Abraham Lincoln

  • Be sure you put your feet in the right place, then stand firm.
  • Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other.
  • No man has a good enough memory to be a successful liar.
  • I walk slowly, but I never walk backward.
  • You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.
  • Am I not destroying my enemies when I make friends of them?
  • The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next.
  • A friend is one who has the same enemies as you have.
  • Avoid popularity if you would have peace.
  • Most folks are about as happy as they make their minds up to be.

Nelson Mandela

  • I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.
  • If you want to make peace with your enemy, you have to work with your enemy. Then he becomes your partner.
  • Man's goodness is a flame that can be hidden but never extinguished
  • After climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb.
  • We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right.
  • If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.
  • It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.
  • It always seems impossible until its done.
  • There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find the ways in which you yourself have altered.
  • Let there be work, bread, water and salt for all.

Mahatma Gandhi

  • It is the quality of our work which will please God and not the quantity.
  • The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others
  • An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind.
  • The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.
  • Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well.
  • What is faith worth if it is not translated into action?
  • Nonviolence is a weapon of the strong.
  • Satisfaction lies in the effort, not in the attainment, full effort is full victory.
  • The strength to kill is not essential for self-defence; one ought to have the strength to die.
  • In prayer it is better to have a heart without words than words without a heart.

Mother Teresa

  • One of the greatest diseases is to be nobody to anybody.
  • If you judge people, you have no time to love them.
  • If we want a love message to be heard, it has got to be sent out.
  • To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it.
  • If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
  • We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do.
  • Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand.
  • I do not pray for success, I ask for faithfulness.
  • If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.
  • I want you to be concerned about your next door neighbor. Do you know your next door neighbor?
  • Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person.

Albert Einstein

  • Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish.
  • I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.
  • Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.
  • Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking.
  • I live in that solitude which is painful in youth, but delicious in the years of maturity.
  • Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.
  • Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.
  • All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree.
  • I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
  • Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited.
