Abraham Lincoln

  • Be sure you put your feet in the right place, then stand firm.
  • Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other.
  • No man has a good enough memory to be a successful liar.
  • I walk slowly, but I never walk backward.
  • You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.
  • Am I not destroying my enemies when I make friends of them?
  • The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next.
  • A friend is one who has the same enemies as you have.
  • Avoid popularity if you would have peace.
  • Most folks are about as happy as they make their minds up to be.

Nelson Mandela

  • I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.
  • If you want to make peace with your enemy, you have to work with your enemy. Then he becomes your partner.
  • Man's goodness is a flame that can be hidden but never extinguished
  • After climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb.
  • We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right.
  • If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.
  • It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.
  • It always seems impossible until its done.
  • There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find the ways in which you yourself have altered.
  • Let there be work, bread, water and salt for all.

Mahatma Gandhi

  • It is the quality of our work which will please God and not the quantity.
  • The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others
  • An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind.
  • The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.
  • Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well.
  • What is faith worth if it is not translated into action?
  • Nonviolence is a weapon of the strong.
  • Satisfaction lies in the effort, not in the attainment, full effort is full victory.
  • The strength to kill is not essential for self-defence; one ought to have the strength to die.
  • In prayer it is better to have a heart without words than words without a heart.

Mother Teresa

  • One of the greatest diseases is to be nobody to anybody.
  • If you judge people, you have no time to love them.
  • If we want a love message to be heard, it has got to be sent out.
  • To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it.
  • If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
  • We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do.
  • Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand.
  • I do not pray for success, I ask for faithfulness.
  • If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.
  • I want you to be concerned about your next door neighbor. Do you know your next door neighbor?
  • Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person.

Albert Einstein

  • Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish.
  • I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.
  • Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.
  • Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking.
  • I live in that solitude which is painful in youth, but delicious in the years of maturity.
  • Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.
  • Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.
  • All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree.
  • I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
  • Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited.

Lord Mahavir

  • The greatest mistake of a soul is non-recognition of its real self and can only be corrected by recognizing itself.
  • Silence and Self-control is non-violence.
  • Every soul is independent. None depends on another
  • There is no separate existence of God. Everybody can attain God-hood by making supreme efforts in the right direction.
  • Every soul is in itself absolutely omniscient and blissful. The bliss does not come from outside.
  • Have compassion towards all living beings. Hatred leads destruction.
  • Respect for all living beings is non‑violence.
  • All human beings are miserable due to their own faults, and they themselves can be happy by correcting these faults.
  • Non-violence is the highest religion
  • A man is seated on top of a tree in the midst of a burning forest. He sees all living beings perish. But he doesn't realize that the same fate is soon to overtake him also. That man is fool.
  • Fight with yourself, why fight with external foes? He, who conquers himself through himself, will obtain happiness.

Ramakrishna Paramahamsa

  • If you must be mad, be it not for the things of the world. Be mad with the love of God.
  • God can be realized through all paths. All religions are true. The important thing is to reach the roof. You can reach it by stone stairs or by wooden stairs or by bamboo steps or by a rope. You can also climb up by a bamboo pole.
  • When the flower blooms, the bees come uninvited
  • Through love one acquires renunciation and discrimination naturally.
  • Unless one always speaks the truth, one cannot find God Who is the soul of truth.
  • Travel in all the four quarters of the earth, yet you will find nothing anywhere. Whatever there is, is only here.
  • Bondage is of the mind; freedom too is of the mind. If you say 'I am a free soul. I am a son of God who can bind me' free you shall be.
  • Give up every thing to Him, resign yourself to Him and there will no trouble for you. Then you will come to know that every thing is done by His will.
  • God is in all men, but all men are not in God; that is why we suffer.
  • The goal can never be reached unless a man makes his mind strong and firmly resolves that he must realize God in this very birth, nay, in this very moment.

Jesus Christ

  • Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be
  • opened to you.
  • In the world you will have trouble but take courage for I have conquered the world.
  • Live in me, let me live in you, says the Lord.
  • What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul?
  • Truly, truly, I say to you, He who believes in me will also do the works that I do;and Greater Works than These will he do.
  • Whatever thy hand finest to do, do it with all thy heart.
  • Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
  • Split a piece of wood and I am there
  • Yes I am with you always, until the very end of time.
  • It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

  • Be as you wish to seem.
  • Thou should eat to live; not live to eat.
  • It is not living that matters, but living rightly.
  • The unexamined life is not worth living.
  • As for me, all I know is that I know nothing.
  • Our prayers should be for blessings in general, for God knows best what is good for us.
  • He is a man of courage who does not run away, but remains at his post and fights against the enemy.
  • My advice to you is get married: if you find a good wife you'll be happy; if not, you'll become a philosopher.
  • Where there is reverence there is fear, but there is not reverence everywhere that there is fear, because fear presumably has a wider extension than reverence.
  • Be slow to fall into friendship; but when thou art in, continue firm and constant.

Goutham Buddha

  • Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.
  • You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.
  • He is able who thinks he is able.
  • We are formed and molded by our thoughts. Those whose minds are shaped by selfless thoughts give joy when they speak or act. Joy follows them like a shadow that never leaves them.
  • You will not be punished for your anger; you will be punished by your anger.
  • He who loves 50 people has 50 woes; he who loves no one has no woes.
  • It is a man's own mind, not his enemy or foe that lures him to evil ways
  • I never see what has been done; I only see what remains to be done.
  • A jug fills drop by drop.
  • Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.
  • All wrong-doing arises because of mind. If mind is transformed can wrong-doing remain?

Swami Vivekanandha
  • All power is within you. You can do anything and everything. Believe in that. Do not believe that you are weak; do not believe that you are half-crazy lunatics, as most of us do nowadays. Stand up and express the divinity within you.
  • Never think there is anything impossible for the soul. It is the greatest heresy to think so. If there is sin, this is the only sin? To say that you are weak or others are weak.
  • We are what our thoughts have made us; so take care about what you think. Words are secondary. Thoughts live; they travel far.
  • Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success that is way great spiritual giants are produced.
  • My child, what I want is muscles of iron and nerves of steel, inside which dwells a mind of the same material as that of which the thunderbolt is made.
  • Have faith in Guru, in his teachings, and in the surety that you can get free. Think day and night that this universe is zero, only God is. Have intense desire to get free.
  • Fill the brain with high thoughts, highest ideals, place them day and night before you, and out of that will come great work.
  • The world is ready to give up its secrets if we only know how to knock, how to give it the necessary blow. The strength and force of the blow come through concentration.
  • Work unto death—I am with you, and when I am gone, my spirit will work with you. This life comes and goes—wealth, fame, enjoyments are only of a few days. It is better, far better, to die on the field of duty, preaching the truth, than to die like a worldly worm. Advance!
  • Be not afraid, for all great power throughout the history of humanity has been with the people. From out of their ranks have come all the greatest geniuses of the world, and history can only repeat itself. Be not afraid of anything. You will do marvelous work.
